The Spring School in Hydrological Modelling will take place over 2 days (27-28 Sept, 2018), on the campus of the University of Adelaide (in the Adelaide CBD). The following broad themes will be covered:

Day 1 – Model development and calibration

  • Model conceptualisation and numerical implementation
  • Process representation using flexible models
  • Model calibration using Bayesian and other methods
  • Practice exercises

Day 2 – Uncertainty estimation

  • Sources of uncertainty in hydrological modelling
  • Methods for characterisation of uncertainty
  • Posterior diagnostic approaches
  • Practice exercises

The course will be delivered by Prof Dmitri Kavetski, A/Professor Mark Thyer and University of Adelaide colleagues, and will include a combination of theory and practical exercises.

The technical level will best suit research students (Masters and PhDs), as well as industry colleagues interested in research approaches.

Registration is due by 21 Sept and the payment system is now available at the following link (Staff and/Students of the University of Adelaide please use this alternate link ) Note that this fee is separate from the STAHY registration fee, which covers the 3 STAHY workshop days (24-26 Sept).
